The LEOFF Plan 2 Board on July 23 approved an offer for Jacob White to become executive director with a midpoint salary set at $197,328, effective April 1 and contingent on his assuming the position. The board chair reported that the offer had been negotiated and was accepted, and the board voted to ratify the offer.

Board members commended staff for guiding the process. One board member said the administrative committee had discussed the importance of landing the compensation to retain qualified leadership. “Karen’s institutional knowledge guided us through the process,” a board member said in support of ratification.
A motion to approve the wage was made and seconded; the motion passed by voice vote with members saying “aye” and no opposition recorded. The approved salary is contingent on Jacob White taking the executive director role and will be effective when he assumes the position, with an effective date noted in discussion as April 1.
