Council to consider $129.24 million FY26 operating budget; class/comp plan language to be added

Staff said it will add language to the final budget resolution to include the classification and compensation plan for FY26. The staff member said that revision will be redistributed to council members for review before Thursday. The staff member also reminded the council that a vote on the primary property tax levy is scheduled for Aug. 14, 2025, at 5 p.m.
Council members asked for clarification about the class comp plan. A council member explained the class comp listing includes positions and pay ranges, and that about 30 positions are market surveyed every year or every two years as part of the review. No final adoption of the budget was recorded in the transcript; staff said the final adoption resolution will be on the forthcoming agenda.
