She said the key takeaways were methods to reach diverse students, including district‑wide email blasts, surveys built with the technology department, anonymous suggestion boxes and social‑media‑style polling to meet students "where they're at." Fiona proposed forming student advisory councils that would include students from different grades and extracurricular backgrounds to provide regular feedback to district leaders and the board.
Board members responded positively and encouraged Fiona to work with administrators and the tech department to collect data that will inform district decisions, including the rollout of the new device policy. Fiona said she is focused on representing the full student population and plans to pursue a mix of outreach approaches, with the board noting the new ex‑officio seat is a recent addition to the district.
