PARS President Jewell reported recent personnel actions and training: finance-team members attended the Government Finance Officers Association national conference in Washington, D.C., and personnel staff conducted orientation for new hires.
Jewell named new parish hires: Clay Laday as Coastal Zone Manager (replacing Marnie Stein), Brett Vitrano as Grama Superintendent (replacing Ricky Russo), Michael Perleau as the parish’s first fleet manager and Patrick Beard as interim Director of Economic Development pending council appointment to replace retiring Director Corey Faucher. "Patrick Beard is our new Director of Economic Development as an interim. Until this council hopefully appoints him and approves him, he will be taking over for Corey Faucher, as you know, who is retiring with over 30 years of service to the parish," Jewell said.
Jewell said the finance staff attended national training to bring best practices back to the parish and thanked Grant and Donna for allowing the staff to participate. He did not provide salary or budget details for the hires during the report.
