The Village of Lisle on July 21 adopted an ordinance to establish a Public Art and Special Events Advisory Committee and appointed five residents to serve staggered terms.
Village Manager Cook said the new committee replaces and expands the 2022 Public Art Advisory Committee established by resolution, adding responsibility to review and recommend on special-event matters as well as public art. The board approved the ordinance by roll-call vote.
The board then appointed Christopher Frye as chair (term ending April 30, 2027) and appointed Loretta Colette (term ending April 30, 2027), Rocky Ruggiero (term ending April 30, 2026), Sara Sadat (term ending April 30, 2026) and Jacqueline West (term ending April 30, 2027). Each appointment carried on voice or roll-call votes recorded in the meeting.
Why it matters: The committee will make recommendations to the Village Board on public-art installations and special events, coordinating with stakeholders and advising on grant awards and event reviews. The board said the expanded role is intended to streamline review of both art projects and special events and to reengage local volunteers in curating public programming.
