Council approves multiple capital projects including $300,000 plow truck replacement and $100,000 street/sidewalk program

The Capital Projects and Equipment Committee presented a package of capital items that the council approved on Feb. 11.
Approved items include the replacement of a 2014 Public Works plow truck at an estimated cost of $300,000; a $100,000 street and sidewalk program; a $35,000 police department retaining wall; a roof assessment at multiple municipal buildings (estimated $5,578); camera upgrades at the Aquatic and Fitness Center ($3,015); fitness room cardio equipment ($8,100); Pfeiffer bleacher upgrades ($20,000); remote tablet keyboard covers for a new time-and-attendance system ($4,813); and a digital sign rewrap at the library museum ($3,200). The council voted 8-0 on the motions as presented.
Committee minutes indicated motions for each item were made by committee members and seconded; the council carried the recommendations unanimously and directed staff to proceed with procurement as budgeted.
