The Common Council approved an amendment to the development agreement timeline for Dare Wolf Garden LLC’s proposed downtown beer garden after the Economic Development Committee reviewed a request from the developer. The draft amendment sets a deadline for construction to begin no later than Dec. 31, 2025, with substantial completion by July 1, 2026.
Developer representative Kim Shonos told the committee that minor planning delays and family medical issues caused the requested timeline change. The Economic Development Committee recommended the council consider and approve the amendment, and the council later carried the motion unanimously.
Why it matters: The timeline amendment preserves the development agreement while giving the small business more time to begin construction. The amendment does not change the underlying terms of the development agreement beyond the construction schedule.
The committee also noted the project materials — including a student capstone downtown revitalization plan — may be used as reference by staff for future planning. No other development incentives or financial assistance were authorized at the June meeting.
