Council OKs brush and yard waste agreements with Towns of Muckwa and Caledonia

The New London Common Council approved two agreements to allow the Towns of Muckwa and Caledonia to use the city's brush and yard waste drop site.
Under the Muckwa agreement, effective Jan. 1, 2025 through Dec. 31, 2026, the township will pay $700 per month and its residents will need to purchase a keypad and annual sticker for site access. The Caledonia agreement, with identical term dates, sets a monthly fee of $200; Caledonia residents must follow the same rules for keypad and sticker access.
Both agreements were reviewed by the Board of Public Works, recommended to the council, and approved by unanimous votes (8-0). The city noted the agreements’ stated terms and enforcement of site rules for non-city residents.
