Councilman David Mueller to resign July 31; council to accept applications for appointment

Councilman David Mueller told colleagues he plans to resign his City Council seat effective July 31, citing a pending move outside the city. Mueller said he will remain a property owner in the area and intends to attend meetings as a resident. Mayor John Eric Hoover outlined a replacement process: the city will publish notice inviting applicants, accept written statements of interest and provide applicants an opportunity to address council in person. Councilors thanked Mueller for his service and asked staff to prepare a commemorative recognition.
