Maria Aponte, development services director, told the Historic Preservation Board on July 22 that the city's recently offered historic preservation planner position is vacant after the candidate rescinded the offer. Aponte said the job has been reposted on American Planning Association and preservation websites and asked board members to share the announcement with potential candidates.
Aponte said, "the person that we have offer a position for the city's historic preservation planner, has communicated with the city and had rescinded, their offer. So the position is vacant again." She added that the posting is live and that staff hopes to find a new candidate soon.
Board members did not take formal action; the announcement was informational. Staff said the vacancy will be advertised on preservation and planning job sites.
