The Harbor Management Commission recommended on July 22 that the coastal site plan for a residential dock at 32 Shorthaven Road be found consistent with the harbor plan after the applicant updated the design to pull the dock away from the north property line and after the applicant reported they had secured DEEP (state) and Army Corps approvals. Applicant representative said the dock's configuration was changed (a dogleg) at neighbors' request and that the new layout provides approximately 60.5 feet between the dock and the adjacent northern property line. The applicant said ramps and floats would likely be removed in the off season and noted typical practice of removing gangways/floats for storm protection. Commissioners moved and seconded the standard recommendation with the usual erosion and seasonal removal expectations. The commission noted Army Corps and DEEP permits were in hand; the project proceeds through city CAM review for the portion within the city's jurisdiction.
