Staff reported that the Berryville Water Improvements project has a pre-construction meeting scheduled with Rural Development and that two change orders are needed for Classic City Mechanical and Hill Construction. Staff said both change orders are no-cost and do not change contract dates; the change removes a builders-risk insurance requirement in the supplementary conditions (SC 6.04) because the division of work does not include a building and builders-risk is therefore unnecessary. The board moved to approve change order 1 for both contractors.
Separately, staff reported receipt of an email concerning a DCJS grant that requires execution and asked the board to authorize the county administrator to accept the award and to amend and appropriate the AAF budget by $95,000. A motion to amend and appropriate the AAF budget by $95,000 was moved and seconded; the chair called for a roll call vote.
The board also approved routine items including payment of invoices and approval of the June 3 minutes. Supervisors raised other operational matters in general business, including a visibility issue at a stop sign on Millers Creek Road that staff said they would address, and staff expressed thanks to the county finance team for processing payroll bonuses early in the fiscal year.
