Committee members discussed funding sources and clarified the contract will be paid from the police budget within the general fund, not from the court’s special fund. The committee recorded no additional cost increase in the meeting and members said the arrangement could be slightly cheaper than current spending.
Motion and vote: Councilor Harden moved to approve the hire; Councilor Brandt seconded. The committee voted 3-0 to approve the contract for Barnes & Barnes.
The action approves the immediate contracting arrangement; no ordinance or other code change was proposed at the meeting.
