Staff said Campbell County manages animal-control services and the updated agreement formalizes the arrangement for Fort Thomas and other cities in the county. Council members noted prior interlocal agreements and said the current agreement is an updated version intended to continue the partnership.
A motion to approve the municipal order was made and seconded; the council voted in favor and approved the order on the meeting record. Staff said the county has restructured shelter operations and is providing services at little or no direct cost to participating cities.
The approved municipal order authorizes the mayor to sign the interlocal agreement and to continue coordination on animal-shelter and control services; no changes to city staffing or immediate fee changes were announced at the meeting.
