Committee approves donor recognition for Forensic Science Center; Greenheck gift and North Central Technical College contributions addressed

The Marathon County Human Resources, Finance and Property Committee voted to approve a donor-recognition plan for the county's new Forensic Science Center and to forward a resolution to the full board for final consideration.
Administrator Lance Leonard told the committee that the county received a $1,000,000 award from the B. A. and Esther Greenheck Foundation and that North Central Technical College contributed roughly $600,000 through reinvestment of land purchase proceeds, facility furnishings and a cash contribution toward equipment. Leonard said the proposed donor-recognition plan follows an existing county policy adopted in 2016 that allows signage inside facilities to recognize large donors.
Under the plan in the committee packet, the Greenheck Foundation would be recognized on the center's observation deck and North Central Technical College would be recognized adjacent to a primary conference or training room. Chair Gibbs moved to approve the recognition and forward the resolution to the full board; Supervisor Pool seconded and the committee approved the motion unanimously.
Leonard said the Forensic Science Center grand opening is forthcoming and that timely action is appropriate if the committee wishes to advance the recognition to the full board this evening.
