Committee directs staff to release RFP for UWSP Wausau dorm redevelopment

Vice Chair Marshall made the motion to direct administration to release the RFP "including redevelopment of that facility or parcel of land," and Supervisor Pool seconded. Chair Gibbs called for a voice vote and the motion carried unanimously.
Administrator Lance Leonard told the committee he has already begun preparing an RFP based on earlier conversations at the Extension, Education and Economic Development Committee and at the standing committee; he said staff will pursue the transparent RFP process the committee requested and is prepared to proceed immediately upon direction.
Next steps: administration will publish the RFP and proceed with the solicitation process. No contract awards or development decisions were made at the meeting; the action was limited to directing staff to issue the RFP.
