Committee backs reappointment of village administrator to Northern Illinois Land Bank Authority board

On July 21 the Administration Finance Committee voted to forward Resolution 48 R 25 to the full board with a positive recommendation, supporting reappointment of James Richter as the village’s representative on the Northern Illinois Land Bank Authority board of trustees.
A staff member reported that the board earlier authorized the village’s membership in the Northern Illinois Land Bank Authority by Resolution 12-R-25, and that Richter had been appointed under that agreement to a three-year term that is now expiring. The staff member said Mayor Johnson and village staff recommended reappointing Richter, describing him as having "an extensive background in community development and a familiarity with the land bank" (paraphrased from the staff report).
Committee members moved and seconded approval; the committee approved the agenda item by voice vote with no opposition and will forward Resolution 48 R 25 to the next board meeting with a positive recommendation.
The committee did not take further action during the meeting to change term length, add conditions, or direct staff to seek alternate nominees. The committee’s vote was a recommendation to the full board, which will make any final appointment.
