Judge issues warrant after Charles Louis Mullenix fails to appear; defense unable to contact defendant

During docket call the court announced that defense counsel had lost contact with the defendant, Charles Louis Mullenix, who did not answer the courtroom docket when his case was called. Defense counsel appeared by Zoom and said they had contact only with the defendant's mother and did not know his whereabouts. The court declared the defendant absent and ordered a judge's warrant. The prosecutor (Duffy Pitlock) registered no objection to issuance of the warrant. The court directed that the defendant be taken into custody without bond when located. The judge emphasized the hearing had been scheduled for 9 a.m. and the defendant failed to appear; the court therefore completed the administrative step of issuing a judge's warrant on the record. Defense counsel and court staff confirmed the warrant would be entered in each cause number listed for Mr. Mullenix and noted the matter would proceed once the defendant is brought into custody.
