During public comment, a resident asked whether collections and claims had previously been made available to the public at meetings and online. Board members and staff said approved claims are submitted to the county auditor and can be inspected there on request; staff said they do not recall seeing the financial reports posted routinely on the county website but noted past posting on Facebook and that minutes are supposed to be posted on the county website.
The clerk explained a line-item question noted on one claim: an auditor entry listed $13,000, which the clerk said reflected $10,000 from the hospital and $2,000 from another donor; the clerk said internally that amount matched receipts and was correct for that submission. A board member also pointed out that the board does not pay sales tax on some invoices and clarified that the payable should match the tax-exempt amount when applicable.
No change to the board's process for posting claims was recorded; the public commenter was told that a formal request to the auditor or to county staff would be the route to obtain the documents if they were not posted online.
The board did not identify a change to its procedure but said county budget meetings were forthcoming and that broader budget impacts for the parks would be discussed during those sessions.
