Dr. Tracy Klinger, the district’s new superintendent, used her first regular-board business meeting on July 2, 2025, to highlight student outcomes from the 2024–25 school year and to introduce a new school leader.
"We handed out over 800 diplomas," Dr. Klinger said, citing district graduation activity, and noted "the highest number of students earning their Seal of Biliteracy this year." She told the board that 24 students graduated from the Fast Track pre-apprenticeship program and that more than 100 students earned industry-recognized credentials through CTE programs.
Klinger introduced Noah Simonson as the next principal of East Orient Elementary School; Simonson was present in the audience. The superintendent described Simonson as having a "very strong instructional and professional development background" and said the district is "very excited to welcome him to our amazing team."
Klinger also thanked district mentors and interim leadership, singling out John Cook for his six months as interim superintendent during the transition. She expressed appreciation to staff and families and noted the district’s focus on attendance, literacy gains, ninth-grade on-track measures and strengthening systems that support students.
The remarks were delivered as part of routine superintendent and district leadership reports and did not include board action beyond the introduction.
