The Gresham-Barlow School District Board of Directors elected Director Blake Peterson as board chair and Director Holly Riegelman as vice chair for the 2025–26 year during the board’s regular business meeting on July 2, 2025.
The elections came at the start of the board’s July meeting as trustees opened nominations and then voted. "I move to elect Blake Peterson to serve as board chair from 2025 to '26," Dr. Sean Barnes said, and Director Heather Coleman Cox seconded the motion. The board voted in favor, and Peterson assumed the chair.
The move to elect Riegelman as vice chair followed. "I would move to nominate Holly Riegelman as vice chair for 2025–26," Chris Howlett said; the motion was seconded and approved. Board members thanked outgoing leadership and noted statutory limits on consecutive terms for the chair role.
Earlier in the meeting the board recognized members elected in the May 20, 2025 special election and presented certificates of election following an oath administered at a prior work session. The board identified newly sworn directors as Blake Peterson (position 3, zone 2), Holly Riegelman (position 4, at-large), the speaker in position 5 (zone 4), and Heather Coleman Cox (position 6, at-large).
The board did not take additional organizational action beyond the elections and the certificate presentation.
The board moved on to other business after the leadership elections and recognition of newly sworn trustees.
