Councilwoman Joelle Harbor, who presented the health, environment and cable committee items, moved to authorize payment to wildlife-control contractor Kevin Kane for $850 for June and to pay Hideaway Kennels $300 for June services. The council then ratified termination of Hideaway Kennels’ contract effective June 30, 2025 and approved a two‑year contract with Stable Kennel Animal Control with a monthly retainer of $500, authorizing the president and borough manager to execute the agreement. All motions were approved by voice vote.
The public comment period preceding the votes included complaints about prior responsiveness to animal calls; Hudson said Weichler has ‘‘been servicing you for the last month’’ and described her as reliable in responding to late‑night calls. Weichler introduced herself and left business cards for council members to review.
