Boone County commissioners approved a $105,843.63 agreement July 21 with Haskell Inc. to apply a liquid preservation treatment and limited milling and resurfacing on subdivision streets including Lakewood Road, Hunt Country Lane, Chaval [Chagall] Court and Beck Lane.
A highway department representative described the treatment as a reinforced asphalt emulsion with polymers and solids—thicker than typical parking‑lot sealers—that extends pavement life and can be appropriate for subdivision streets. The work includes limited milling where asphalt deterioration was unsuitable for treatment and some crack sealing. Staff said funds are available in road preservation appropriations across general, MVH and local roads and streets funds.
Commissioners approved the agreement by voice vote. Staff said quotes were solicited from four contractors and two bids received; existing appropriations cover the project and no additional county funds were anticipated.
