Commissioners approve $236,524 construction agreement for Bridge 307 rehabilitation

Boone County commissioners approved a construction agreement July 21 for rehabilitation work on Bridge 307, located on Horton Road east of State Road 39 in Mechanicsburg.
Nick Bartlett, highway department staff, said the work is a preservation and rehabilitation project similar to one completed previously on Bridge 17 and described tasks including removing deteriorated concrete on the deck, placing new concrete, repairing approaches and addressing items listed in the bridge inspection report. The total contract amount is $236,524; Bartlett said funds will come from existing bridge preservation appropriations.
Commissioners approved execution of the construction agreement by motion and voice vote. Bartlett said the department designed the project in‑house to reduce design costs and open a construction window that yielded multiple bids.
