Staff reports drop in outstanding violations in district; commission notes improvement

At the Oct. 5 meeting the commission heard a staff report showing a decline in the number of outstanding property violations across the historic districts.
Warren Adams of land use told the commission he had reviewed the violations grid and observed that “virtually all of them have been addressed or resolved.” Adams credited the increased citation and follow‑up work by staff in the districts and said this month marked a significant improvement in outstanding cases. “I really think that the work that Sean's been doing in the districts, working with the residents and actually citing these violations, I think we're starting to see the benefit of it now,” Adams said.
The commission had no further action on the report; staff will continue monitoring and return updates in future meetings.
