Drainage board approves $21,928.90 change order for Loffner tile project

The change order covers work to connect two 6-inch tiles, one 8-inch tile on the east side of the project and an 18-inch tile on the west side that were not identified during design. County staff said the field connections were completed earlier in the year and the change order reflects the negotiated cost with the contractor. Final project completion and final cost reconciliation will occur later in the fall after seeding and other closeout items are finished.
Board members asked if there were questions; none were raised before the motion to approve. County staff identified the contractor involved as Morphy Construction and said the change order is to allow payment for work already completed.
The action will enable the county to pay the contractor now, with a final reconciliation to be presented after seasonal closeout activities are complete.
