Chesapeake College President Clifford Coppersmith briefed Kent County commissioners on the Queen Anne’s County Technical Building project, telling the board that after state negotiations and refinements the estimated project cost is now about $48.5 million, slightly less than earlier estimates.
Commissioners said Kent County’s share of the overall cost was expected to decrease by roughly $250,000 total and that the county’s FY26 budgeted design-phase contribution will fall by about $16,000. No vote was required on the informational update; county leaders said the project continues to move forward in the design and state-approval process.
