Commissioners approve seven Children & Youth Services contracts and renewals

On July 22 the Lawrence County commissioners accepted seven contracts or renewals requested by Children & Youth Services (CYS), covering residential placements, in‑home services and treatment programs. CYS staff members Mike Brippo and Lisa Haddad presented the packet. They said the batch includes continuing contracts the county has used previously and newer program additions such as Glade Run’s family group decision‑making program and a six‑month pilot at a St. Joe’s location. Staff described provider arrangements, per‑diem rates and that some placements are supported by Medical Assistance where eligible. Key providers listed in the packet and discussed in the meeting included Glade Run Lutheran Services (in‑home and new family group decision‑making program), Dr. Terry O’Hara (forensic interviews and parental capacity evaluations), Pathways Adolescent Center (residential placements), Adelphi Village (residential and group home services), Prairie Youth and Family Services (community service and juvenile sanctions programming), Justice Works Youth Care (contract retained for capacity though not yet used), and Outside In — School of Experiential Education (drug & alcohol inpatient services available under MA where appropriate). Commissioners acknowledged the packet and voted to approve resolutions 192 through 198 in a single motion. Staff noted some contracts are renewals, some are new, and that Medical Assistance coverage may offset costs for eligible juveniles placed for substance use treatment.
