Commissioners approve one‑year renewal for employment‑verification service used by domestic relations

The Lawrence County Board of Commissioners on July 22 approved a one‑year renewal of the county’s contract with Equifax verification services to support Domestic Relations casework. Jana, a Domestic Relations office staff member who presented the item, said the service helps staff locate employers, verify income and find current addresses and phone numbers for noncustodial parents when case information is incomplete. "A lot of times ... they never tell us where they're working. They don't change address," she said, describing why the verification searches speed case processing.
