The Anderson City Board of Public Works approved three change orders for city water projects at its July 8 meeting, including a $42,361.40 increase tied to a Madison County drainage-board requirement.

Superintendent McKee, water department superintendent, told the board the first change order affects the Division 1 water transmission main project from the Lafayette Water Treatment Plant to Cross Street and "is a result of the Madison County drainage board requirement to increase the depth of the transmission lane along the Madison County legal drain on County Road 250 North." The board approved the change order by voice vote after a motion and second.

The board also approved a change order for the Division 3 four-well project that reduces the contract by $16,100. McKee described that change as a deduct tied to a reconfiguration of the generator location.

A third approved change order, for Division 3, covered the cost to install a security fence around a well and generator location; McKee said the total cost for that change order is $35,000. During discussion, a board member asked, "Full of well, where is that? Is it the one up in Lafayette? 128?" and staff replied, "Yes. 128 9." The board approved that change order by voice vote.

All three items were presented by Superintendent McKee and approved after brief motions and seconds; the minutes and other routine business were also approved earlier in the meeting. The board adjourned at 1:33 p.m.
