Board approved a short-term renewal of Connect ProgressBook while the district’s data team completes migration of legacy student data into Naviance and Infinite Campus; staff said the renewal can be canceled after six months.
The Garfield Heights City School District approved a short-term renewal of its Connect ProgressBook subscription while district staff complete a data migration to Naviance and Infinite Campus.
During the July 21 meeting, a staff member said the renewal seen on the agenda is a 12-month renewal that the district can cancel after six months once the legacy data have been fully transferred. The renewal covers a period that allows the data team and Naviance to retrieve legacy student records the district needs for ongoing counseling and enrollment services.
"Our data team and the Naviance team still need some of the legacy data from [ProgressBook] that's still in there," a district staff member said. "We have the ability to cancel it in 6 months... just to make sure that we have all of our previous information for our students that are still here in our district right now."
Board members asked for a timeline and for confirmation that the stopgap payment would be the last such charge; staff committed to providing a timeline and to following up quickly.
The board approved waiving additional readings of the renewal item and authorized staff to proceed with the short-term renewal with the option to cancel after six months if migration is complete.
