Stakeholder involvement: Kevin Hayes, chairman of the Fair Rent Commission, attended the ordinance-subcommittee meeting and was invited to stay and answer questions, though the committee did not open a public-comment portion for the subcommittee session. Committee members confirmed the commission itself had reviewed and expressed no objection to the proposed language.
Public process: The council added the chapter 24 revision to its Aug. 4 public hearing calendar. Committee members and staff said the hearing will be the time for public input and any additional changes the council may direct.
