At the July 21 meeting, Norwalk WPCA staff informed members that the contractually required annual inflation adjustment for the operations contract was calculated at 3.3 percent and that sewer-use appeal adjustments totaling $2,688 had been issued following the July 1 appeal notices.
The inflation adjustment was described as the routine, annual contractual calculation tied primarily to the consumer price index and a weighted average of metrics specified in the contract. The staff packet attached documentation showing how the fee portions are affected by the inflation calculation; no additional budget vote or contract amendment was taken at the meeting.
Separately, staff said sewer-use appeals sent July 1 have resulted in $2,688 in adjustments to date. No board action was taken on appeals at the July 21 meeting.
Board members did not raise additional questions that led to formal actions on either the inflation adjustment or the appeals during this session.
