Norwalk — Commissioner Cheryl Brown announced at the Conservation Commission and Inland Wetland Agency meeting that she has decided to resign after six years of service.
"I've decided to step down. I've I wanna say that I've really valued the experience and, you know, over the past 6 years," Cheryl Brown said during the commission report portion of the meeting.
Members thanked Brown for her service and discussed next steps. Alexis (city staff) said she will "put out" items for the commission and that she would place the vice‑chair vacancy on the next meeting agenda so the commission can address the vacancy.
Why it matters: Brown’s departure reduces the commission’s membership and creates at least one leadership vacancy (vice chair) the panel must fill. Commissioners asked Brown to help the transition where possible.
Ending: Staff will return with procedures and an agenda item to fill the vice‑chair position at a future meeting.
