City staff said the project is making visible progress, with final mural installation, landscaping and some contractor scheduling delays remaining. The property owners told staff they have expended at least $1.5 million on renovations and are finalizing loan documents for a $200,000 BIDC (local business development) loan. A council member suggested arranging a brief site tour before the next work session given the transformation underway.
Council member Mark moved to approve the deadline extensions and the council voted to adopt the extensions by roll call.
