The Oakley City Council approved a bid from Mater Construction to perform electrical material and labor for the connection of a standby generator, for $1,090.

Staff said bids were solicited from multiple contractors but only one bid was returned; that bid was opened during the meeting. Council confirmed the contractor (Trevor of Mater Construction) is licensed to perform electrical work. The council approved the bid by motion (Steve moved; Russ seconded) and accepted the recommendation to install the unit on April 22.

Staff said they will post the existing generator for sale — likely on an online auction platform — and will coordinate removal and installation with the contractor when the new generator is tied in.

The motion passed unanimously.
