Board approves $7,500 study on parking garage costs for River District development

The Board of Public Works approved July 9 a contract not to exceed $7,500 with Walker Consultants to study the cost to construct and operate a parking garage related to a proposed River District development.
Mike Huber, development services, said the study will inform the city’s negotiation of a development project in the River District and will analyze operating costs, potential locations and related details. Board members clarified the study is part of the River District evaluation and that the subject site is adjacent to the "Delta" neighborhood development branded by the developer We Impact.
Huber said the study will give the city better information while negotiating a developer request for proposals (RFP) and that the contract is funded from the department's professional services budget. The motion passed by voice vote.
