Board approves change order reducing Bristol Street/Park 6 Industrial Park paving contract

The Board of Public Works approved a change order July 9 that reduced the final contract price for the Bristol Street and Park 6 Industrial Park paving project after the contractor did not pave through the Johnson Street intersection.
City staff said the change reduces the contract because paving through the Johnson Street intersection was deferred and will be addressed at a later date. Jeff (engineering) told the board the project was partly funded by a Community Crossings Matching Grant (CCMG) awarded in late 2024 and that staff were pleased with the contractor's work: "Work went very well. We were very pleased with the work the contractor did."
There was extended clarification during the meeting about how the final contract price should be written (several participants corrected commas and cents during roll call), and the board ultimately approved the amended final contract figure on voice vote. The board recorded the change order as the first and final change for the 2025 contract paving project number 1.
