Redevelopment commission amends plan to help fund countywide housing market study

The county’s redevelopment commission voted July 21 to amend its economic development plan so it may provide funding toward a countywide housing market study and needs analysis requested by the Greensburg-Decatur County Economic Development Corporation. Tom (Redevelopment Commission) told the commissioners the amendment cleared the area plan commission and that the redevelopment commission will hold a public hearing at its Aug. 20 meeting before committing funds. The study is intended to inventory current housing stock and identify needs across the county and incorporated towns; staff said some of the study’s findings could be incorporated into the county comprehensive-plan update.
