The commissioners approved resurfacing the south courthouse parking lot at the July 21 meeting, accepting a low bid of $30,295.80 from Shutti & O'Mara. Staff told the board the county received two bids: Shutti & O'Mara at $30,295.80 and ProS Bulk at $35,604.85; another vendor could not fit the job into their schedule. A staff member recommended doing the work while nearby paving equipment was on-site to gain savings. The work will include milling two inches and a resurfacing overlay, re-striping parking and crosswalk lines. Commissioners voted to proceed and to fund the work from the courthouse capital line in the county capital fund; staff said the courthouse capital budget had sufficient remaining balance.
