Commissioners confirm multiple board appointments and reappoint Jean Dixon to RCCC seat

Rowan County commissioners on July 21 approved a set of appointments to local advisory boards, volunteer fire department boards and other bodies, and separately reappointed Jean Dixon to an at‑large seat on the Rowan‑Cabarrus Community College board. Staff grouped multiple routine appointments — including Airport Advisory Board, Cleveland Community Volunteer Fire Department Board of Trustees, Phenixville Volunteer Fire Department seats, Grama Quarry Zoning Board ETJ seat and Local Emergency Planning Committee assignments — and presented them for a single vote. Commissioners approved the grouped appointments by voice vote. Commissioners took the Rowan‑Cabarrus Community College reappointment of Jean Dixon separately after staff noted significant outreach in support of her service; the board voted to reappoint Dixon and invited her for a photo with commissioners. No public opposition was recorded during the meeting for these appointments.
