Commission authorizes online auction of county surplus equipment with Mason27s auction service

Mason said his firm would provide its own loader and trucks to move equipment and requested minimal county assistance with two dump trucks on site during removal. He also said unsold items would be sold through the auction system rather than returned to the county for indefinite storage.
The board voted to authorize the county administrator (Sherman) to sign the agreement and proceed with Mason27s auction services. Commissioners asked staff to confirm limits on county assistance and to return if additional costs or complications arise. The motion passed by voice vote after a motion and second.
The authorization directs staff to work with the vendor on logistics, advertise the auction per county policy and complete any required transfer paperwork for surplus equipment sales.
