Local union warns federal education funds remain partially frozen; urges board action

He cited examples from nearby districts: Pinellas County is hosting a community forum about the federal funding freeze and Polk County’s superintendent sent communications to families and staff with contact guidance for elected officials.
Larson asked the board to consider steps to notify Pasco families and employees and to outline possible district responses. The board did not take formal action during the meeting on this request; Larson’s remarks were made during the public comment portion of the meeting and were referred to staff and the board for consideration.
