The Scottsbluff City Council voted to award the construction contract for a 60-by-100-foot equipment building at the city compost facility to Mark Christman Trucking for $288,108.
City staff described the structure as a steel building intended to store equipment during winter and said two bidders responded to the solicitation. Staff presented three alternates for installation levels and recommended awarding Alternate 1 to Mark Christman Trucking as the best value.
Council members discussed alternate installation levels and noted one alternate appeared substantially more expensive; staff said the selected alternate fit the budget closely though it was “a little bit over.” The council approved the recommendation by motion and voice vote.
No contract documents or start dates were provided on the record during the meeting; staff indicated the item was a budgeted project but that the recommended award slightly exceeded the initial figure.
