City staff said the event layout will be the same as previous years, with the event proper running from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Staff noted the city would close Broadway starting at 5 p.m. to give organizers an hour to set up and leave the street closed until 9 p.m. to allow an hour for takedown.
One potential change under discussion was repositioning the car show to make more room for fire trucks; staff said they were still finalizing that detail. Council members asked whether the planned closures would create a dead end for traffic near East 15th Street; staff responded that attendees could use a nearby parking lot to turn around and that closure patterns had not caused problems in prior years.
Council approved the permit by motion and voice vote. No additional enforcement conditions or new traffic-control requirements were recorded in the meeting transcript.
