Commissioners approve $19,544 remodel contract funded by CCJJ grant for public-safety complex

Uinta County commissioners on July 22 approved a $19,544 construction contract with Green River Construction to remodel space in the county Public Safety complex, using repurposed funds from a 2025 grant from the state Criminal Justice Services (CCJJ).
Jenny Bird, the county purchasing and grants officer, said the Criminal Justice Services Department approved repurposing part of the 2025 grant award for the project. Work will remove one wall in the drug-testing center office to create a larger waiting area, relocate electrical and fire-alarm components as needed, and include new paint and flooring. Bird said the total project cost of $19,544 is fully covered by the CCJJ grant.
Because the project cost was under the county’s $30,000 formal bidding threshold, staff obtained two competitive quotes and selected Green River Construction. County counsel reviewed and approved the contract language. The board moved and approved the contract on a voice vote.
County staff will work with the contractor to schedule the remodel and ensure grant compliance and reporting to the CCJJ funder.
