County staff told commissioners that Manning meets the state code requirements to act as a hearing officer and has served the county in recent years. The agreement was reviewed by county counsel (Lauren) before being recommended for approval.
A motion to appoint Manning and approve the agreement was made and carried on a voice vote. The hiring is intended to provide an independent hearing officer for board of equalization proceedings; the contract terms discussed at the meeting specified the hourly rate and maximum hours only.
County staff will execute the agreement and schedule hearings as required by the board of equalization process.
