The LaSalle City Council approved a resolution authorizing curb cuts for Gary Urbanski at 2016 Sixth Street, allowing openings on both Sixth and Leharpe/Leharpe (as stated on the agenda) and confirming that the requested curb-cut width may be up to 70 feet. City legal staff explained the council must pass a resolution because the city ordinance requires council approval for curb cuts in excess of 35 feet.
The city attorney described additional parameters embedded in the ordinance — including compliance with standards and any conditions specified in the resolution — and the council voted in favor by roll call. The recorded roll call showed Aldermen Patak, Reynolds, LaViere, Herndon, Crane, Dimas and Thompson voting in favor.
The resolution instructions require the property owner to comply with the ordinance provisions and the conditions included in the resolution. The council did not vote to waive any other ordinance requirements during the meeting.
Implementation steps include issuance of permits and inspection by city staff to ensure compliance with the ordinance and the conditions contained in the resolution.
