The Tuscaloosa City Council approved a resolution authorizing the mayor to execute a permissive peace agreement with Southern Ale House, permitting the restaurant to use an adjacent large grass area for lawn games and outdoor gathering. City staff said the same type of agreement was in place about a year ago and that the arrangement had been ‘‘successful from everyone’s accounts.’’ The permissive peace agreement allows the restaurant to host lawn activities beside the restaurant on the lake under terms set by the city and the business. Council action: A motion to authorize the mayor to execute the permissive peace agreement was made and the motion passed. Next steps: Staff will finalize the agreement for the mayor’s signature and monitor compliance with any city conditions included in the agreement.
