Commission approves budget amendments; moves $500,000 from landfill fund for bid award

The general fund (Fund 101) amendment cited $56,739.12 in fund-balance use and $128,300 in reserve use to reconcile actual insurance expenses. The sanitation fund (Fund 116) used $6,420 in fund balance for similar adjustments. The highway fund amendment involved internal reallocation with no fund-balance draw.

Separately, the commission considered landfill bid results and voted to move $500,000 from the landfill fund balance (Fund 207) to proceed with awarded work; commissioners noted the awarded bid was under $1 million but the commission chose to allocate $500,000 at this time. That motion passed 16-1.
